Understanding MOQ & Project Pricing
A useful quotation separates the cost of making an item from the cost of developing, packaging and delivering it.
Define quantity per design
Provide quantities for each design, color or size. Do not assume that different designs can be combined to meet a minimum; confirm the applicable MOQ for each item.
Separate development and unit costs
Ask for tooling, sample, revision and unit costs separately. Confirm whether tooling is reusable, who owns it and whether sample charges can be credited; these terms are project-specific.
Specify packaging and destination
Include individual packaging, labels, set assembly and carton requirements. Ask which shipping costs are included and compare quotations using the same delivery terms.
Plan changes before production
Changes to dimensions, construction or artwork can affect tooling, price and schedule. Approve specifications and clarify change charges before proceeding.
Apply this checklist to your project
