Choosing a Merchandise Supply Partner
Evaluate the people, specifications and evidence behind a quotation, whether you work with a factory or a trading company.
Understand the operating model
Ask who manages development, who manufactures the item and who handles inspection and shipping. A trading company and a factory have different roles; confirm the responsibilities in your order.
Review relevant product evidence
Request samples and product-specific information relevant to your intended materials and construction. Confirm that any test reports match the item, materials and scope you are ordering.
Agree milestones and responsibilities
Document artwork approval, sample revisions, inspection arrangements, communication milestones and the required delivery date. Clarify what happens if a specification changes.
Define artwork handling
Confirm who owns the supplied artwork and tooling, which confidentiality terms apply and whether finished work can be shown publicly. Provide the relevant authorization for licensed designs.
Apply this checklist to your project
Include your design, quantities, destination and required delivery date. Commercial terms and product requirements are confirmed in the quotation.
